Joseph Neu

Founder, President and CEO

Joseph Neu is the Founder and CEO of NeuGroup. Joseph founded NeuGroup 25 years ago to provide insight to treasury and finance leaders to help them succeed. In 2001, he transformed the company into a membership organization for leading peer knowledge exchange, starting with the tech sector, via peer groups segmented by company size, sector or job role. This carefully curated network now includes many of the world’s most iconic companies and over 500 corporate finance and treasury professionals from a variety of sectors.

With its current mission, NeuGroup seeks to connect every corporate finance and treasury professional who wants to share and learn with others willing to do the same and we distill insight from these exchanges to help them succeed.

Joseph oversees business development and act as chief connector for growing the network to connect members, partners and our facilitators with new sources of insight to share and learn from and find solutions to problems screaming to be solved. He is also a master distiller of insight for all NeuGroup stakeholders and a regular contributor to NeuGroup Insights, the company’s digital newsletter.

Prior to starting NeuGroup, Joseph worked in various roles at the Economist Group, serving as Managing Editor or its Finance & Treasury publication and as a Research Analyst on numerous projects involving global treasury, derivatives markets, and overseas business development. He also was a frequent contributor to the finance and treasury events of the New York division of the Economist Conferences.

He holds an M.A. in international banking and finance from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a B.A. in international relations from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He lives with his wife and two boys in South Salem, New York.

Anne Friberg, CTP

Senior Director, Peer Groups

Anne Friberg joined NeuGroup in 2006 and is now Senior Director, Peer Groups, where she oversees the peer group leadership function and leads or oversees the leadership of half of the peer groups NeuGroup offers, including Tech20 Tech Treasurers’ Peer Group, all regional groups for EMEA, AsiaPac and LatAm and functional specialty groups for FX, investments and cash management, in addition to the Women in NeuGroup initiative.

Anne started her career at Anheuser-Busch Companies (now Anheuser-Busch Inbev) where she held positions in corporate planning, international treasury and investor relations. She subsequently also managed the investor relations function at two technology companies.

Anne has a Master of International Management from Thunderbird in Phoenix, Arizona and an international business degree from the School of Economics and Law in Gothenburg in her native Sweden. She is multilingual and a keen traveler. And loves dogs.

Scott Flieger

Director, Peer Groups

Scott joined NeuGroup in 2019 and is now Director, Peer Groups, where he leads or oversees the leadership of half of the peer groups NeuGroup offers, including the Treasurers’ Group of Mega-Caps, Treasurers’ Group of Thirty Large Cap, Treasurers’ Group of Thirty, Life Sciences Treasurers’ Peer Group, Bank Treasurers’ Peer Group, Assistant Treasurers’ Group of Thirty, Assistant Treasurers’ Leadership Group, and functional specialty groups including the Pension & Benefits Roundtable, Internal Audit Peer Group, and Enterprise Risk Management.

Scott had a lengthy career of Wall Street holding several positions in the investment grade debt market including bond trader, syndicate manager, and debt capital markets coverage officer. He began his career at Bear Stearns and also worked at Credit Suisse First Boston, JPMorgan, and Deutsche Bank.

Scott has a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science in American History from the State University of New York College at Brockport where he is currently the Treasurer of the Brockport Foundation. Scott resides in New York City and in his spare time enjoys playing ice hockey for a New Jersey-based team in Hockey North America.

Julie Zawacki-Lucci

Director, Peer Groups

Julie Zawacki-Lucci, joined NeuGroup in June 2015, overseeing the survey and benchmarking processes across the NeuGroup Network to provide best-practice data for all peer groups. As the leader of NeuGroup Peer Research, she analyzed trends and related research to create content for members, sponsors and partners across our various knowledge exchange platforms such as peer group meetings, neugroup.com and NeuGroup Insights (fka iTreasurer). In 2018, she moved into role of Peer Group Leader and now leads several peer groups, including GCBG, TIMPG and TIMPG2, and oversees all related planning, research and member and sponsor relationships. She continues to participate in research processes across the NeuGroup Network and is a contributor to NeuGroup Insights.

Prior to joining NeuGroup, Ms. Zawacki-Lucci served as Senior Manager, Capital Markets & Foreign Treasury Operations, at CVS Health Corporation, where she was responsible for capital structure initiatives, global cash management, affiliate capitalization, international investments and bank relationship management. She also held a variety of key treasury and investor relations positions at Hasbro, Inc. During her time as Manager of Capital Markets at Hasbro, Inc., she was an active member of NeuGroup’s Foreign Exchange Managers’ Peer Group.

Ms. Zawacki-Lucci holds an M.B.A. from Bryant University and a B.A. in psychology and English from the University of New Hampshire and is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).

Ted Howard

Associate Director, Peer Knowledge Exchange • Managing Editor, NeuGroup Insights

Ted Howard joined NeuGroup in 2005. He serves as Associate Director of Peer Knowledge Exchange and Managing Editor for NeuGroup Insights, formerly iTreasurer, and its related website. In this capacity, he works with NeuGroup leaders on the research and content development processes for multiple peer groups and also coordinates the Internal Auditors' Peer Group (IAPG).

Prior to joining NeuGroup, Mr. Howard was a writer and researcher at Institutional Investor. He has more than 20 years of experience as a journalist covering the financial markets and has worked in various roles in the business and financial communication industry, writing for corporate clients and financial websites.

Mr. Howard holds an M.S. from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. in history from Boston University.

Andy Podolsky

Director, New Membership Offerings & Peer Groups

Andy joined NeuGroup in 2020 as Director, New Membership Offerings & Peer Groups. His responsibilities include serving as category group leader for a subset of NeuGroup new membership offerings and new peer knowledge exchange memberships. In that capacity he will lead Peer Groups and co-facilitate member group meetings, as well as support the NeuGroups Sales and Marketing teams.

Prior to joining NeuGroup Andy has served in leadership roles in the Consulting and Financial Services industries at firms including Deloitte Consulting, Barclays, and as COO at Gardner Lewis Asset Management. His most recent role at Chatham Financial saw him build relationships with and support Fortune 500 Financial leadership teams. He began his career at General Electric, where he completed the GE Financial Management Training Program.

Andy has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA from Kenan Flagler Business School, where he was a Jenrette Fellow. Andy his wife, two daughters and two dogs live in Wilmington, Delaware where he serves on several not-for-profit boards.

Antony Michels

Director of NeuGroup Knowledge Content

Antony Michels joined NeuGroup after working for almost three decades as a journalist, primarily covering business, markets and finance for major media organizations. After graduating from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University, Antony began his career in print, covering corporate finance for the magazine Investment Dealers’ Digest; he also spent five years as a reporter at Fortune magazine, where he wrote for the magazine’s personal finance section. He made the move to television in the mid-1990s when CNN created the business channel CNNfn, working as a writer, producer and script editor, eventually moving to write and produce stories and shows for CNN business news. Antony spent 11 years at Bloomberg Television as a writer, editor and producer and was part of a team that won the 2008 Emmy Award for Outstanding Investigative Reporting for “401(k) Hidden Fees.” His television career continued at Al Jazeera America, where he wrote, produced and edited scripts for shows on business, politics and international affairs hosted by anchor Ali Velshi. Antony spent more than a year at Yahoo Finance, writing and producing livestreamed shows and contributing articles to the website before joining NeuGroup. A native of northern California, Antony has a BA in English and a minor in French from the University of California at Berkeley. He and his wife live in Brooklyn, New York and have a daughter attending college.

Vanesha Jaiswal-Azad

Director of Marketing

Vanesha is the Director of Marketing, where she focuses on the strategy and implementation of awareness driving campaigns and initiatives. With the ability to combine data and insights, she looks for ways to maximize prospects’ every interaction with NeuGroup. As a multi-channel marketer with 11 years of Marketing experience, Vanesha brings varied experience from working across SaaS, telecommunications, retail, and transportation industries.

Although she carries a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Math, Vanesha’s love for marketing and delivering unique customer experiences began with her work across B2B event management, right after college.

With an appetite for adventure, most weekends Vanesha can be found hiking or taking spontaneous trips with her husband. She also enjoys trying new and exquisite cuisines with her friends and family. Whenever and wherever she can, Vanesha donates to global causes that focus on racism, human rights and poverty.

Paul Dalle Molle

Senior Executive Advisor

Paul Dalle Molle was the Head of US Technology Banking at Societe Generale, based in New York. Among his prior roles at SG, he was Head of Client Coverage & Investment Banking in the US, Head of Client Coverage in EMEA (ex-France and Germany) based in Paris, and Country Manager for Italy. He also worked at the Bank of New York, where he was a financial institutions banker and a trade & export finance specialist. He is a graduate of Queen’s University in Canada and The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

Clelia Milan

Senior Event Manager

Clelia is a goal-oriented and articulate professional with over 10 years of experience in event planning and management. Prior to joining NeuGroup in 2019 she worked for a public relations company where she managed and produced events ranging from red carpet events, multi-day press trips, product launches, cocktail parties, and large-scale consumer events.
She has always had a love and apt for logistics and planning which in turn made her the designated party and vacation planner for family and friends. A born and raised New Yorker she has degrees from the Fashion Institute of Technology and the City College of New York where she majored in Art and Multimedia Design. On Weekends she loves nothing more than running through the city with the Van Cortlandt Track Club and spending time with her niece and two nephews.

Joshua Mathews

Member and Sponsor Services Manager

Josh started with NeuGroup in September of 2019 as an associate manager of peer groups. He has since transitioned roles to assist members and sponsors in their invoicing, renewals, and customer service needs.
He currently works remotely from Denver, Colorado as he completes his Master of Public Administration at the University of Colorado at Denver.
Josh graduated Magna Cum Laude in Business Administration from the College at Brockport, SUNY. There, he was recognized as the Business Administration Departmental Scholar, inducted into the Beta Gama Sigma International Honor Society, and served as president of the Brockport Student Government.

Jacob Bromsey

Associate Manager, Peer Groups

Jacob Bromsey joined NeuGroup in August 2020 after graduating from The College at Brockport. He graduated with degrees in Finance, Business Administration, and Accounting. During his four years at school, he worked as a student tutor where he taught introductory level courses alongside capstone level classes, i.e., corporate finance, investment analysis, management information systems, principles of finance. He designed logos and videos to effectively market for events put on by the Student Government. He also held the president position in Brockport’s award-winning Finance Club.

Matthew Thomas

Associate Manager, Peer Groups

Matthew Thomas joined NeuGroup after graduating from Pace University in New York City, where he studied Political Science with a focus on international relations. Matthew has a background in journalism with experience in internships at MSNBC and CNBC. Other professional experience includes Business Development at a small technology firm called Evercontact. Matthew also has worked at the United Nations with a handful of non-governmental organizations. While in University, Matthew participated and won awards for Pace University’s Model United Nations at the national and international levels for his position papers on a wide range of topics. Matthew works with NeuGroup as an Associate Manager, Peer Groups and will be working for Scott Flieger, Director Peer Groups covering Treasurers’ Group of Mega-Caps, Treasurers’ Group of Thirty Large Cap, Treasurers’ Group of Thirty, Life Sciences Treasurers’ Peer Group, Bank Treasurers’ Peer Group, Assistant Treasurers’ Group of Thirty, Assistant Treasurers’ Leadership Group, and functional specialty groups including the Pension & Benefits Roundtable, Internal Audit Peer Group, and Enterprise Risk Management.
